My reeds are not defined by their measurements, but by their characters being soft/hard, bright/dark, resonant/resistant, light/heavy, clear in the sound or rather dark or even spongy. According to personal preferences I choose a specific cane, which will provide personal wishes. My shape MLK (Rieger) takes the air very well and therefore causes a higher yield easier. The tension I build into the reed using my own philosophy results in a long reed-lifetime (PDF with background about my philosphy will be published soon).
